The Friends Hospital Speakers Bureau

The Speakers Bureau is part of the hospital’s community outreach efforts. Staff are available to speak on a variety of topics to community groups, service clubs, religious organizations, schools, businesses, retirement communities, and others. The group’s size can range from 15 people to several hundred. Staff can address members of the helping professions in addition to lay persons. Speakers include psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric nurses, art therapists, horticultural therapists, and other staff from the hospital, depending on availability. There is no charge for speakers, but donations are gratefully accepted.

A topic can be selected from the following list, or tailored specifically to the interests and needs of your group. Requests for speakers should reach the Public Relations Department at least three weeks before the engagement if possible. Call the office at 215-831-7854.
